TERA in the Catalogue of Good Enviromental Practives of Spanish Companies 2024 of the CEOE
The ‘Catalogue of Good Environmental Practices of Spanish Companies’ is a publication produced by the Industry, Energy, Environment and Climate Department of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE). This document compiles more than 80 examples of sustainable initiatives implemented by Spanish companies, highlighting their commitment to sustainability and the 2030 Agenda.
The catalogue is structured in six thematic areas:
- Water
- Energy
- Cities and sustainable mobility
- Circular economy
- Decarbonisation
- Biodiversity
Each section presents case studies illustrating how companies are taking steps to improve their environmental performance in these areas.
This catalogue is a valuable tool for disseminating and promoting responsible business practices, providing inspiration for other organisations seeking to integrate sustainability into their operations.
Thanks to TERA‘s daily work, this year we have been able to be part of the catalogue pages in the ‘Circular Economy’ section. Our work in vehicle battery recycling is positioned as one of the best solutions for the management of damaged EV batteries, reducing the exploitation and creation of new extraction mines as a supply for the manufacture of electric vehicles.
Our appearance in the catalogue highlights TERA’s alignment with four Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are central to our corporate mission and vision:
- SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy: At TERA, we are actively working to optimise the lifecycle of electric vehicle batteries, driving technologies that maximise the recovery of critical materials such as lithium, cobalt and nickel. This not only reduces dependence on extractive mining, but also supports the transition to clean energy by bringing these resources back to the market on sustainable and affordable terms. We thus contribute to the democratisation of clean energy, which is essential to mitigate climate change and ensure equitable access to sustainable mobility technologies.
- SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure: Our focus on innovation positions us as a leader in battery recycling through advanced and sustainable technological processes. This recovers materials efficiently and reduces emissions and industrial waste. In this way, we strengthen the infrastructure for a cleaner, more modern industry, while fostering collaborations with other sectors to expand the impact of our initiatives.
- SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities: Our work has a direct impact on the sustainability of urban environments by promoting proper waste management, preventing hazardous materials from contaminating air, water or soil. In addition, our practices contribute to reducing carbon emissions associated with transport and the manufacture of new batteries, leading to cleaner and more liveable cities. We actively support public policies and strategic partnerships to build resilient and environmentally responsible communities.
- SDG 12: Responsible production and consumption: The circular economy model we promote is based on the recovery, recycling and reintegration of materials into the production cycle, minimising waste and encouraging more conscious consumption. Our commitment includes ongoing research to improve recycling rates and make the most of every battery component.
These objectives perfectly align TERA’s work streams and reflect our short and long-term goals.
Beyond the recognition, this achievement represents our daily commitment and inspires us to continue innovating and leading the way towards a more sustainable future. Every step we take reinforces our mission to be a leader in sustainable battery recycling and a key player in the move towards a cleaner, more efficient world.
Thanks to the CEOE for highlighting the work of all those companies committed to change and for counting on TERA to be part of this cast. Together, we are building a more sustainable economy, a more conscious society and a cleaner planet.
