Within our Innovation Division, we diagnose, assess and recover key battery components for reuse in the manufacture of new energy storage systems and mobility applications. By extending the life of these materials, we reduce the need for raw material extraction, promote the circular economy and support the transition towards decarbonisation.

Advanced Diagnostics

Advanced Diagnostics

At TERA, every process begins with advanced battery diagnostics. We use our own proprietary characterisation technology to accurately determine the State of Health (SOH) of each component, significantly reducing data extraction times while improving the quality of the information obtained. This analysis enables us to assess the true condition of each battery and determine the most suitable next use for every component.

Reuse and Responsible Recycling

We assess and classify every component according to its condition. Those that meet the required technical standards are selected for reuse and remanufacturing, extending their service life.

Components that are not suitable for reuse are prepared for recycling and sent to specialised recycling partners for responsible material recovery.

Innovation for a Circular Economy

In partnership with the Energy Technology Institute (ITE), we developed the RECILION project, an initiative focused on the direct recycling of critical materials found in lithium-ion batteries.

The project enables us to develop new solutions for recovering high-value materials, reducing reliance on virgin raw materials and minimising environmental impact.

At TERA, we manufacture batteries for mobility applications and recover components for the remanufacturing of electric vehicle batteries. Through advanced diagnostics, we identify components that retain their performance and give them a second life, maximising resource efficiency and extending their service life.

At TERA, we design and manufacture our own energy storage systems using both first-life and second-life batteries. Where they meet the required technical standards, we integrate remanufactured lithium batteries into our systems, delivering reliable, efficient and sustainable energy storage solutions that support a circular energy economy.
